About The Creator Program

Each year, hundreds of thousands of posts are shared across every major digital platform communicating anticipation and appreciation for Dream Con. From reactions to recaps, there's no shortage of diverse personalities and perspectives documenting their journey to and during an ultimate weekend of activities featuring leading creatives across the entertainment industry. In support of that dynamic community committed to bringing visibility of the convention to the world at large through the promulgation of their synergy and shared experience, Dream Con is proud to introduce The Creator Program. A new initiative engineered to unify and elevate voices dedicated to awareness, inclusivity, and positivity surrounding RDCWorld's flagship event in Texas.

This program will empower rising and renowned creators with an intersectional passion for both Dream Con's legacy (e.g. programming, history, impact, outreach, etc.) and the modern landscape of multimedia entertainment (e.g. film, television, music, sports etc.) Members of The Creator Program will collaborate with each other and event staff to curate experiences and tell stories that enrich the attendee journey to Dream Con.

CREATOR PROGRAM | Overview

Individuals exploring any and all conduits of creativity are encouraged to apply. From traditional/mainstream mediums such as music, dance, comedy, photography, illustration, fashion, gaming, directing, writing, cooking etc. to alternative (or niche) pursuits including carving, weaving, sculpting, scrap-booking, calligraphy, cosmetology, computer science, improv, tattooing, bodybuilding/fitness and many more activities beyond conventional interests.

The program is a collaborative project aimed at creative professionals from various backgrounds that are eager to explore new horizons and highlight key Dream Con developments/announcements in an active, public-facing capacity. For corporate professionals with similar aspirations through an enterprise-oriented lens, the event leadership encourages submitting interest to the companion module known as The Industry Program. Selected applicants of the Creator Program will primarily focus on participation in pre-event initiatives designed to educate, inform, and entertain. All approved applicants/confirmed members with satisfactory pre-event contributions will be granted a commemorative Creator Badge to attend Dream Con in Texas with complimentary standard on-site access for the full weekend. A limited selection of individual participants with consistent and notable achievements within the program during preliminary event development will be eligible for special assignments entailing involvement with official Dream Con headliner programming (e.g. gaming tournaments, meetups, sports events, music showcases and more!) featuring official talent and may have the opportunity to get involved with special campaigns of third-party partners and sponsors if/when they become available.

There will be no required on-site or post-event assignments during the BETA release of this program. During this phase, staff will emphasize identifying, unifying, and empowering luminaries, thought leaders, and cultural figures from various communities to connect with the Dream Con audience via unique online or in-person pre-event engagement opportunities. However, members of The Creator Program are welcome and encouraged to continue the cycle of community engagement as it organically aligns with their personal and professional interests.

  • Demonstrate qualitative and quantitative consistency in general output, outreach, or engagement via at least two (2) publicly-visible digital profiles/platforms over a recent six (6) month time period with publicly visible timestamped content reflecting this requirement.
  • NOTE: There are no minimum metrics such as followers, views, reach, subscriptions, impressions, click-through rate (CTR) or other analytics that are required to submit an application however there are certain milestones/thresholds outlined in the application which are highly recommended to improve your chances. These are not meant to be a barrier to entry but rather a benchmark to ensure you're prepared for the challenges, success, and workflow that can come with participating in programs of this caliber.
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee approval as there are limited spaces for this opportunity. All qualified applicants may not be approved. If you create with a team (e.g. assistant, producer, photographer, videographer, editor, etc.) you're permitted to apply as a group but it's recommended to complete individual applications to maximize autonomy. DREAM CON reserves the right to restrict the number of badges provided to any organization due to the limited capacity of this program.
  • Each person or group applying for a Creator Badge may only apply once per selection cycle. NOTE: If you are an individual that is also part of an active ensemble/collective then two separate applications are acceptable for each type of classification (i.e. individual vs group) submitted to this singular program during the same selection cycle. If multiple or duplicate applications are received for the same individual or group then the most recent submission will be evaluated by the selection committee and the others will be voided. If four or more submissions for the same applicant within the same program cycle are submitted, Dream Con staff reserve the right to have an applicant's general consideration be rescinded and/or be barred from future submissions/consideration until further notice.
  • If selected and approved for The Creator Program, additional information regarding participation and expectations will be transmitted via the confirmation email. That correspondence will require follow-up communication from the approved applicant acknowledging and confirming their responsibilities and placement within The Creator Program. Failure of approved applicants to confirm via the forthcoming correspondence by the enclosed deadline may result in a rescinded offer to join The Creator Program.
