Programming
The Programming Department manages the overall events and activities of Dream Con. The flow of Dream Con relies on the constant overseeing and attention to scheduling, time management, and communication of the Programming Department. The Programming Department consists of the following teams: Main Stage and Special Events, Panel Programming, Entertainment & Decor, Cosplay, and After Hours Programming
Responsibilities:
Main Stage and Special Events
- Contribute ideas and plan main stage and special events
- Coordinate main events, special events/cultural programming, paneling, cosplay events, and gaming
- Communicate with the security team to manage main and special event lines
- Assist the Guest Relations Department with Guest Programming
- Provide final schedule to venue, logistics, and guest relations department
Panel Programing
- Monitor and review panel applications, timeline, and selection process
- Research panel applicants and their role within the anime and gaming community
- inform applicants if panel has been accepted or rejected
- Communicate with all approved panelist regrading schedules, revisions, and any updates
- Answer all panelist questions and concerns
- Ensure panel rooms are set up and provided with necessary equipment
Entertainment & Decor
- Identify entertainment and decor needs, request quotes, and book entertainment and decor vendors
- Pay all entertainment and decor invoices
- Assist with overseeing associated 3rd party offsite programming events
- Coordinate and create schedule for all 3rd party programming vendors
- Create a supplies list for decor and entertainment
Cosplay
- Identify potential cosplay judges and guests
- Communicate with cosplay judges and guests
- Plan and execute cosplay contest and cosplay runway
- Recruit cosplayers onsite to enter cosplay contest
- Coordinate cosplay meetups for attendees
- Order trophies and fulfill all cosplay prizes to winners
