Arts & Graphics
The Art & Graphics Department is critical in the process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. This department shapes the visual aspects of Dream Con’s website, social media, programming, signage, products, merchandise, and more. Creative and out-of-the box thinkers are necessary to keep the Dream Con’s brand consistent and fresh across all platforms and media.
Responsibilities
- Create all original art, graphics, templates, flyers, and other Dream Con branding materials
- Coordinate and communicate with outside agencies, art services, web designer, marketing, printer, and other Dream Con departments to fulfill graphic needs
- Fulfill 3rd party programming vendor graphics needs as advised
- Illustrate concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
- Assist and review the creation of new designs for future Dream Con merchandise
- Prepare finished art by operating necessary equipment and software
- Design and order onsite signage
- Other tasks as necessary
Requirements
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
- Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
- Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software, etc.
- Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Excellent eye for detail and visual composition
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Able to give and receive constructive criticism
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a team setting
- Degree in Digital/Graphic design (Preferred not required)
