Dream Con Celebrates National Puzzle Day

January 29 is National Puzzle Day, a time to celebrate the joy–and challenge–of putting pieces together to create something beautiful! In honor of the occasion, we want to highlight one of our Dream Con Partners, Puzzles of Color – a Black-owned family business redefining the puzzle experience.

Founded by one of our very own Directors with his sister, Puzzles of Color began with a simple but powerful mission: to bring diversity and representation to the puzzle world through “pieces of culture.” As lifelong puzzle enthusiasts, they noticed that most puzzles didn’t realistically reflect their lives or experiences. To address this, they created puzzles featuring frameable art from talented Artists of Color celebrating vibrant, diverse stories.

Puzzles of Color recently received the 2024 Black Ambition Award in the Consumer Products category. Founded by recording artist, producer, and songwriter Pharrell Williams, the Black Ambition Award celebrates underrepresented entrepreneurs, investing capital and resources in high-growth startups spearheaded by those historically left out of traditional investment funnels.
